Knowledge
Why are things as they are?
Information is not knowledge. Heinz von Bergen said: "Information is the seed for an idea, and only grows when it's watered." Kofi Annan said: “Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family.” The Power-knowledge concept is coined by Michel Foucault. Carl Sagan said: Knowing a great deal is not the same as being smart; intelligence is not information alone but also judgment, the manner in which information is collected and used. James Madison (1751-1836)said: "Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives".

“Information is a source of learning. But unless it is organized, processed, and available to the right people in a format for decision making, it is a burden, not a benefit.”
---William Pollard ---

An overview of modern science (Dutch Language only)
There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance - that principle is contempt prior to investigation
--- Herbert Spencer - British social Philosopher (1820-1903) ---
Language Learning
One of my interests is learning the Russian language (русский язык). Russian language is spoken by 280 million people; it ranks with English and Chinese as one of the three major world languages. It's also one of the six official languages in the United Nations. Over a quarter of the world's scientific literature is published in Russian. If you share the same interest in learning Russian than contact me.
